We’re parents, and just like you, we’ve faced the same parenting challenges such as temper tantrums, sibling rivalry, not listening, whining, arguing over chores and more. We understand what you’re going through. What’s more, we have extensive professional experience helping families in various ways. We’ll provide you with the tools, knowledge and training to help work through the challenges you’re facing to help bring discipline and a sense of order in to your life. Perhaps best of all, we can help you reclaim the fun of being a parent—and when you have fun, so do your kids.

Amy McCready founded Positive Parenting Solutions and created The Breakthrough Course curriculum with the idea that parenting can—and should be—fun! For over 20 years, she’s developed training programs and taught adults in Fortune 500 companies and community organizations. Certified in teaching positive discipline classes by the Positive Discipline Association, she’s now fulfilling her dream of helping people become the great parents they’ve always wanted to be. Through classes teaching the principles of Adlerian Psychology, individual family coaching, and her own experience as a mom, Amy puts the fun back into parenting for parents all across the Triangle. Kim Dillon is a graduate of Auburn University with a B.A. in Social Work and Psychology. She spent most of her career working in training and sales for various divisions of Johnson & Johnson, Inc. Since retiring from her “corporate career”, Kim has been an active volunteer with Wake County Public Schools and the American-Belarusian Relief Organization. Kim formed a support group for Parents of Children with Learning Disabilities and continues to apply her special interest in this area as she works with families enrolled in the Positive Parenting Solutions classes. Kim lives in North Raleigh with her husband, Chris, their three sons (13-year-old twins and an 8-year-old) and their three dogs. Leslie Marshall, M.D. is a native of New York and has been in the Raleigh area for 18 years. She and her husband, Brian, have a 7-year old son and a 5 year old daughter. Leslie graduated from George Washington University with a degree in French and earned her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia. Leslie and Brian both practice emergency medicine at Rex Hospital. Leslie is an alumnus of three Positive Parenting Solutions classes. She is enthusiastic about the positive results with her own family and is eager to share the information with other parents. Leslie believes that we learn best by teaching others. She inspires parents with her comprehensive understanding of Adlerian Principles coupled with her humor and ability help parents apply the tools in “real life.” leslie@positiveparentingsolutions.com

Lisa J. Brown, M.A., completed her B.A. from Stanford University, where she majored in Human Biology, with a concentration in early childhood development. After completing her Masters degree from the Stanford School of Education, she traveled to Asia, spending almost 10 years abroad, teaching in various international settings. During this period, she was trained to use the Positive Discipline approach in the classroom. She also married her Australian husband, and now has 2 sons, ages 11 and 8 years old. Lisa rediscovered Positive Discipline after moving to Raleigh, and participating in several Positive Parenting Solutions classes. Michelle Chayka (Client Administration) has a diverse corporate background, which includes 15 years experience in the areas of Performance Analysis, Office Administration, Legal, and Human Resources. She has an AAS in Business Administration/Management. She is an active parent volunteer at West Lake Elementary School.
